Which Canyon?

We recommend you choose a beginner canyon to start your experience with us. Most Bali canyons have a mix of jumps, slides, swims and wades, and waterfall abseils. Jumps are optional. Swims are short. There is usually more water flow in the Bali canyons than normally experienced in Australia. NZ canyons will have similar flows. Due to the steep mountain country in North Bali, rain can add to the flow, so our staff are mindful of weather conditions for your safety.

Age and Fitness

We have wetsuit sizes for children (size 6 and up), and suggest the Baby Campuhan Canyoning experience for families with young children age 6 and up. This canyon follows the course of Campuhan Canyon but stops before the last 2 big abseils. It includes slides, swims and optional jumps, and smaller abseils.

Incidentally, age for adults is merely a number, and provided there are no inhibiting medical conditions, then adventurous Grandparent and Great Grandparents will have plenty of fun. ( Craig has, in the past, taken customers aged up to 77 canyoning in Australia).

Water flows downhill, so there is little climbing to be done – mainly some steps and sloping trails at the end of the canyon. Canyoning in Bali does include some scrambling, a bit of down climbing, sliding, jumping and swimming. Abseiling is friction – based sliding down a rope. It does not require much arm strength.

If in any doubt, call or email our friendly team at Go Canyoning for assistance.

Safety

Our methodology for canyon safety is based on our training and many years of canyon guiding from an Australian perspective. Australian canyon operators have an excellent reputation for client safety, and Craig continues this in Bali at Go Canyoning. All equipment is checked daily prior to use, and checked again and cleaned after use. Wetsuits are dis-infected after each use.

Our anchors are stainless steel ringbolts, 150mm long full thread shaft, glued into the rock using Powers Powerfast Pro industrial glues. All anchors are regularly checked for wear, and tested annually using a Hilti Tester 4. Records are kept for each test.

Insurance

Bali Canyoning Adventure has public liability insurance through AXA Indonesia, and holds a double policy to maintain a reasonable level of cover. With a previous history of zero claims in over 15 years of Australian operations, you are assured of a continuation of our excellent attitude to your health and well-being while on tour with Go Canyoning in Bali.
