Bali Canyoning Adventure

Bali Canyoning Adventure was established in 2017 by Craig Albery, of Adventure and Photographic Company of Australia. Working in partnership with local friends in Gitgit Bali, Craig handed the business over to full local ownership in October 2019.

Craig worked as a canyon guide from 1993 in Australia’s Blue Mountains, and set up his own adventure business (River Deep Mountain High) in late 1995. He successfully ran this business for 18 years till 2013, when he sold up to take a working holiday around Australia.

All equipment is sourced from reputable companies, mostly from Australia, ensuring that every piece of equipment meets Australian Standards for load rating compliance. All staff were professionally trained by Rich Carlson in 2019, Rich is considered the guru of canyoneering in North America, having originally set up American Canyoneering Association, and now managing Canyon Guides International.

Craig assists with some of the administration of Bali Canyoning Adventure, with an emphasis on tri hita karana, the underlying thread of Balinese spirituality.

Through tri hita karana, the business respects and stays in harmony with the natural environment where it operates, works closely with and supports the communities where the canyons are, and engages in spiritual and cultural activities in accordance with Balinese customs.

Bali Canyoning Adventure accesses canyons in 2 village areas. Written permission has been negotiated by the team for all activities.
